Children’s Finnish School dates for 2011-2012
Hopewell Avenue Public School, Ottawa
Saturdays 9:30 - 12:00, from September 17, 2011 through June 16, 2012

Note there will be NO classes on the following dates:
Thanksgiving Oct 8
PD day Oct 29
Christmas Dec 24
New Years Eve Dec 31
Family Day Feb 18
March Break March 17
Easter April 7
Victoria Day May 19

December 3rd class will be a fieldtrip to the Finnish School Christmas Party, see details below. No class at Hopewell Ave School on that Saturday.

TRADITIONAL FINNISH SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PARTY 2011

Saturday, December 3rd, 3 – 6 pm
Woodroffe United Church, 207 Woodroffe Avenue
Welcome to the traditional OSKU Christmas Party!
Join us for some glögg, authentic Finnish Christmas food and desserts, children and adult Finnish learners will preform, musical program, bake sale, raffles – and meet JOULUPUKKI!

Tickets: $20 (or just $10, if you bring a dish for the party), children free (under 18)

FINNISH CHURCH SERVICES IN OTTAWA 2011

Service, on Sunday October 2, at 3 pm

Our favourite Christmas carols, a sing-along event, takes place on Sunday, November November 27, at 3 pm.

Finnish language Christmas church service takes place on Sunday, December 11, at 3 pm,

These events take place at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 400 Sparks St. Entrance from the side door only. Att: The side door will be locked at 3.30 pm and opened as soon as the services have come to an end before coffee reception. Same applies to "Carols".
